Most companies have some sort of ambassador program. At Valley Stove and cycle we have Specialized and Giant have ambassador programs that we’ve offered to folks in the past.
To get involved in an ambassador program at your favourite LBS you don’t have to be a racer, we’ve always preferred to offer them to those who support the scene other ways.
If you love the shop and a particular brand it doesn’t hurt to let them know. There are usually limited numbers of ambassador opportunities and you will be expected to give feedback on the bike and maintain a positive image for both the shop and the brand at the very least.
It’s just another way that shops can help out local riders who are great community leaders as well.
