Surprisingly not that busy at Mac Run this evening… maybe everybody left the city now that we’re allowed
No pic, but I had my first ride today since the snow started falling. Great to be back up at MacRun. Time flies and time out we’re great fun. Got in my head too much about the drop into time flies so decided to save it for another day.
It’s so hot out down in the run and I overheated far too quickly, I t’s a side effect of taking amphetamines for breakfast, so there’s things I have to relearn.
It’s been too long off the bike, but life’s like that sometimes. Having a couple of hours away from the family was a luxury we couldn’t afford a couple of months ago. Things are getting better each day so should be a good summer. I’ve always ridden for my mental health, but I can’t ride for someone else’s. So I crashed too. I’ve always lived the airline safety video message “to put your own mask on first” as a rule to be most helpful to others, but didn’t do it in time this year!
Man i cant wait to ride this.
Not the one sticking up in the middle of the bridge?
At the end of the bridge where it meets the community trail.
Yeah, that’s brutal. It needs some day glow orange paint or to be removed. I guess the Tim’s cup that was marking it got removed.
I’ve ridden by that metal stump a few times and each time thought to myself that it looked pretty dangerous. Even if they just put the stanchion back in to make it obvious, it would be better.
Not sure if that bridge falls under MRWA or not? @Lawrence @kaarin ?
Yikes! I haven’t been by there for a while.
This bridge is an HRM Parks structure (though it was originally built by Armco contractors, I think, to bring sewer and water service across the river).
Call HRM’s 311 number and report it. The more people that call to report it as hazardous, the faster they will act.
I wouldn’t be surprised if the bollard was removed by industrious ATVers, as some have reportedly been buzzing up and down the Community Trail.
I’m giving them a call at lunch today. I’ve also got a roll of reflective tape that I’ll throw in my pack so I can mark it next time in there
