Clipless Pedal Suggestions

Thanks. Yes I can get them operable, but the engagement isn’t very good until it gets a decent cleaning.

I’m currently running Shimano 647 clip-in pedals with a platform on my trail bike. They’re really a downhill pedal, but I like having a large platform for the extra support, and so I don’t have to clip in immediately if I don’t want to.

I used to run Crank Bros. Mallets, which I liked when they worked, but I had maintenance issues with them. One pedal pulled off the shaft on a ride. On another set, the rotating clamp got hung up, so they didn’t clip in properly. I also found that they released very easily after the cleat wore down to the point of being unsafe. Really have to make sure the cleats are replaced regularly.
