I was in the market for some bike shorts, but I’ve recently become cheap and old and didn’t want to drop 100 bucks. So I went to Walmart and picked up a pair of Dickies work pants for 26 bucks and hemmed them to hang just below the knee. They’re loose in the arse and look pretty sharp. Not Baaaadddd at all.
Next time go for the Dickies coveralls and hem them. You can be like a cool cyclocross rider/mtber mix with a loose sturdy skin suit!
One of my favorite pair of ‘cycling’ pants (I like to wear full length pants except during the heat of summer) is a pair of ‘Point Zero’ pants. They are from Zellers, I guess from their ‘technical sprots wear’ line. I’m pretty good with a sewing machine so I narrowed/tapered the legs, I can just barely fit my foot through the cuff and I have never hooked a pant leg on the chainrings.
