I feel for MVDP, but racing is racing.
I mean to be fair, seems like he was dead set on the roll, and for the sake of riders after they should be made aware the course changed between practice and the event. I can’t imagine the logic there.
Overall: Olympics is a gross misuse of money and resources, and a huge carbon emission creator that creates far more human ethical issues than it solves. If we lived in a perfect world I’d have no issue with it but unfortunately we live in the opposite.
XC seems to have gotten significantly more technical since when I previously rode/raced back in 08. The bikes are getting better as well but I question whether XC really needs dangerous features, that put people at risk of getting hurt.
If I was looking for that sort of stuff I would race Enduro or have gotten back into motocross, hoping the XC races in NS this season won’t be featuring “do or die” features.
You should have seen mtbs inaugural entry into the Olympics in Helena, Georgia. Google Continental Doublefighter if you want to get an impression of the course.
The thinking at one point was that we had to have “stunts” and shit like that to keep the kids interested. Pass.
That sounds about right most sports are facing similar… they want it fast action packed to draw attention… totally different sport but beach volleyball is getting heat for the uniforms manditorily getting smaller and smaller uniforms stating theres a maximum allowed amount of coverage…makes no sense…it its super hot out wear shorts and a tank… cooler conditons compression pants under neath with long sleeve… not a mandatory uni that has 2 sq inches of coverage of your jiggly bits
Missing cannabis.
Last time my neighbour asked I said it was broccoli growing in the garden
