Riding at Crystal Crescent?

Took a drive out to Crystal Crescent Beach this weekend and was reminded there are trails that go in either direction along the coast. I remember hiking a small amount of these when I was younger but don’t remember much other than they exist. Just wondering if they are rideable, and if so what type of terrain to expect? Any help would be great.

There are a few options to ride… in addition to the coast trail there’s a route that goes through the middle of the peninsula to the tip. That route can be a bit wet so go when it’s been dry for a while- there’s great riding on the exposed rock at the end of the peninsula. The trail that follows the shore back to the beaches is a little sketchy in spots but overall it makes for a lot of fun if you like it rough.

You can access the middle trail from the 2nd parking lot, or you can get on it from outside the park where you turn at the last left on the paved road to go towards Crystal Crescent. Google maps should give you some rough ideas where to go.

I’ve ridden it on a fully rigid cross country bike, but I ain’t normal, and like the tech. It’s very technical in spots, but if you’re there and have a bike, why not?

Isn’t Hospital Hill out by there?

Every Trail has a track out to Hospital Hill: http://www.everytrail.com/view_trip.php?trip_id=2086973

Here is a video of someone riding it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0nL5p8D2x3I

Looks like an ATV double track.
