Is anyone planning a Thursday snowshoe stomping party for any of the Halifax trail systems, like Wrandees? I have yet to try out the snowshoes I bought end of 2015, and am keen to get some time somewhere other than Shubie Park.

I would be really interested but I would need a lend of a pair as I don’t have the spare cash to pick up a pair to own right now. If anyone is willing let me know

You can rent them from MEC or Trail Shop for about $10 - $15 per day.
I’m not 100% sure, but I think the Halifax Rec Centres lend out snowshoes for free. It might be worth looking in to.

There are free rentals available in many community centers around the province, actually. See this entry from The Local Traveller, and Hike Nova Scotia has a “where to buy, borrow, and rent” guide by region on their web page. I have a pair of 30’s here pretty sure. From our rental fleet. I see you in the shop lots, if you wanna take em out and recommend Idealbikes to your friends… I’ll waive the fee

Some fine stomping went down tonight. Where? (Shrug) Started at Halifax Expedition Centre, followed some tracks, turned around and came out. 3.5K of hopefully rideable trail!

That’s by the pipeline loop. If you turn right at the T and then follow trail along stream. Funnest part when groomed, IMHO.
Glad you had fun man! I decided to go out myself. Put in 10.5 Km, and man… Sooo beautiful out tonight!

I went up the BLT I was surprised to see that no one else had been up there.

I could kinda see what looked like someone had been through but it was mostly blown over.
Looks like Monday is a planned public snowshoe in Shubie, Tuesday could be awesome riding there.
