Trail Closures due to Hurricane Fiona

The BLT and SMBARTA Rails to trails will be closed today as of noon at the direction of the Province of Nova Scotia – Department of Environment and Climate Change:

“As of noon on Friday, September 23, all provincial trails will be closed to both hikers and off-road vehicles until after the storm and they have been assessed for public safety.”

I suspect this affects other trails too, just not sure jurisdictionally which ones the province has any say over.

Though it’s not like anyone’s going to be out riding anyway.

Wentworth posted a closure notice in their stories, too.

The Railyard is now officially closed, too. Honestly, no one should be trying to ride at all this weekend anyway. Stay indoors whenever possible, only travel if strictly necessary. If we’re all smart, then hopefully we’ll be tricked into thinking we over-reacted; when in reality, that preparation is what makes things less bad.

Better yet if we get hit really hard and the province makes a statement do not go oit driving around becauwe the roads are clogged with downed trees… if you need tl go out do so on foot…

People go oit driving around and emergency services cant do their job thanks to the people driving around clogging up the streets
