Upgrading an Entry Level MTB

Well done @Spindatt.

Do you agree? What would you swap out first?

Whatever breaks first. Usually wheels.

A wheel upgrade can make a big difference, rotational weight and all. A good set of wheels might cost as much as an entry level bike, though.

Interesting. My number one is hydro brakes in line with @Spindattā€™s number one.

Pretty much agree. I was going to get a Trek Marlin 5 as a winter bike and then upgrade the brakes and fork down the road. I have enough spare good parts lying around to improve the drivetrain when it wore out.

Iā€™d upgrade the rear shock

Joke, aside. Wheels, then the fork.
