Work Day at Nine Mile River Trail - *** Changed to Sunday June 27

We’ve been making a lot of progress in the last few weeks at Nine Mile. We’ve worked on several mud holes that hopefully will no longer be muddy.

Our next advertised work day will be this Sunday, June 27, at 10:00am.

I’m kind of excited about this one – I’ve been anticipating this project for a while now. We’re going to build some log benches and rideable log features. We have a downed tree picked out, a nice site for a bench overlooking a ravine, and a nice site for a rideable “skinny” challenge feature/bench. The work is going to involve chainsawing, moving logs, debarking, woodworking, digging and rockwork for site preparation.

The worksite is along the main trail, between Bog Corner and the Rock Bridge. We’re going to ride in on mountain bikes on Saturday. The work site is about a 20-minute ride or 40-minute walk. Feel free to walk in and meet us. For tools – an extra chainsaw would be good, wood working tools, digging tools, and a wheelbarrow.

Big thank you to @liam for coming out!

If you’re riding the trail and wondering why there’s a 2x4 screwed on top of a log, we’re getting the log ready to split, we had to split before we could do the splitting.
