Any of the stores could fairly charge something for a RD or brake adjustment and I’ve paid for pins before.
I wonder how different it is for stores now they have such an increase in demand?
In NZ around 2016/17 lots of locally owned bike stores couldn’t survive. The big chains and franchises were squeezing them on the price of new bikes and they were surviving on workshop fees alone. Even Lance Armstrong’s ex-wrench had to shut his store.
I guess e-bikes opened a new market for a couple of years and then COVID came along. I did hear the distributors have been favouring chains over local shops but not sure how true that is.
