Looking sell my 2010 Giant Reign 0
Got it checked out at the local bike shop. They said it needs:
New rear shock - looks fine to me but I am not an expert. It doesn’t leak and holds air pressure. He said he even put the air pressure up to 180 psi which seems low.
Bottom bracket needs replacement as it is a little loose
Chain should be replaced soon
$800 as is

I find it hard to believe the rear shock needs to be replaced. It probably just needs to be sent away for a damper rebuild.

Unfortunately not personally. I’d ship it to s4. A couple hundo is probably much cheaper than a new shock.
As it turns out tracking down rear shock damper rebuild tools are an absolute bitch right now. I’ve been given Jan/ Feb 2022 etas for required tools. Because if I’m doing it, I’m doing it right. And then there’s the whole nitrogen charging station I need to figure out and then try and explain to my wife where there is a 3000psi gas bottle in my basement haha. It’s a process to say the least.

3000psi is a bit firm for my liking. That and the schrapnel.

The nitrogen tanks we have at work are about 4 feet tall and 3000psi, arguably a bit big for diving with haha. I’m thinking I can just hook into one of those and regulate it down to the 500psi Fox shocks need.
