Nine mile river for the first time. Was fun until Hemlock Ravine - the use at own risk sign should mention the biting bugs that consider DEET as BBQ sauce on your skin.
You just have to ride faster than the flies… although outriding a horse fly might be a challenge.
Finally sat down and tore apart an old set of backup pedals and got the XTRs fixed up. Playing SPD bingo with a half-working pedal the last couple of rides wasn’t ideal.
The green monster wanted a big-ole bowl of Janky-O’s for breakfast yesterday morning. Was happy to oblige.
@Jetter La belle vie!
Awesome!
Is that the SMBARTA?
Its between Ingramport and the Bean. 3 of these major washouts in one general area.
According to their Facebook page they’re hoping for assistance from the province. Damage like that is going to be very costly to fix and like Mac Run needs DNRR approval.
Hope they get it sorted, fully realize their are other priorities like road and rail infrastructure. I personally didn’t feel like there was anything so dangerous a hiker or cyclist couldn’t navigate around. The blanket action of just shutting it all down is getting old and the bottom line is people are gonna find a way.
We have to face it, this is the new norm.
Be interested to see if they fix the bridge on hiking trail road and what the eta is on that project as well.
Another epic Sugarloaf weekend in the books. Apparently, we picked an ideal weekend to go, hope y’all stayed safe out there.
