Bike & Bean Train Gang Gravel Social Ride - July 10th

Who’s up for gravel riding? Jump onboard with the Train Gang on Thursday evenings for beginner/intermediate level rides in the St. Margaret’s Bay Area. These social rides are a terrific opportunity to meet other riders and have fun. If you don’t have a gravel bike your mountain bike will do fine. These are no-drop rides with an average distance of 20 – 30 km with a goal pace of 20km/h. We’ll regroup at the top of each major climb. Riders should be comfortable with loose climbs and descents. Meet-up at the Train Station Bike and Bean in Upper Tantallon. The group departs at 6:30 PM with return planned for no later than 8:30 PM.

Where: Departs the Train Station Bike & Bean in Upper Tantallon at 6;30 PM. Parking is available at the shop or in the nearby lot at Redmond’s Home Hardware.

Difficulty: This is a no-drop group ride. Our goal pace is 20 km/h. We’ll regroup at the top of all major climbs. Nobody will be left behind.

Route: Bay Lookout Ramble

Notes: A Cycling Nova Scotia membership is required. This is a self-supported group ride, please carry any water/nutrition and spares you might need to repair your bike on the ride. The club requires a bell for the SMB trail portions, and a red rear light for the road portions. Bug spray is never a bad idea.

This is not an official ECMTB ride.

The weather is looking decent for tomorrow night. Let’s take a spin out to Bay Lookout. This is a pretty relaxed route, there’s only one hill. Watch out for the deer though.

Fun! If this is a regular thing I might have to bring my gravel bike to town the next time I’m visiting my mom overnight.

Suck that I have sailing Thursday nights, or else I would be there for sure

Every Thursday until it gets too cold or dark. I’m planning some longer weekend rides as well.
