Looking to buy a hitch rack. Preferably the “platform” type. Must fold out of the way when not in use. Hitch has a 2" receptacle.

Swagman 2 - purchased through MEC
I will put emphasis on ‘through’ and not ‘at’ MEC. They didn’t have any in stock when I was looking to buy, so I went through the website.
Good rack, on the more frugal side of the spectrum. The ratchet hold-downs are difficult to release for my wife, and I’ve struggled a few times with them, there’s not much leverage there.
It sways a bit on rough roads - but I guess they all sway a little bit. Make sure for multiple bikes that they are loaded evenly. It has an adapter to go from 1.25" to 2".
Bottom line - for $179, it’s pretty good. I suspect there are better racks out there. Avoid the cheaper Swagman 1.

Love my Yakima Stickup. Cheap? No. Top dollar? Not that, either. Good quality? EXCELLENT quality. Good support and parts, but haven’t needed them. LOL. Folds flat, fits both hitch sizes, easy to operate and easy to install/remove. My $0.02
I love my yaks. I have the roof mount but the quality of their entry level racks are fantastic. They aren’t the cheapest, but well worth it.
I ended up buying a Thule Dubletrack Platform Hitch Mount Rack. I bought it at UHaul in Dartmouth.
The best I could find online was $319.99 plus tax (?) and shipping. I paid $300 taxes in so I think I got a great deal.
Now I just need to find a helmet light
