Cancelled: Island Lake Wilderness Area Gravel Ride #4 September 26th

Who’s up for gravel riding? Come on out Thursday evenings this September for beginner/intermediate level rides in the Island Lake Wilderness Area. These social rides are a terrific opportunity to meet other riders and have fun. If you don’t have a gravel bike your mountain or fat bike will do fine. These are no-drop rides with an average distance of 20 – 30 km with a goal pace of 20km/h. We’ll regroup at the top of each major climb. Riders should be comfortable with loose climbs and descents. Meet-up at the Train Station Bike and Bean in Upper Tantallon. The group departs at 6:30 PM with return planned for no later than 8:30 PM. Please bring a light, water, and a repair kit.

This is not an official ECMTB ride.

Hey folks. Rain is in the forecast for this week, but forecasting the weather beyond 48 hours is witchcraft. If it’s raining we’ll cancel. If not, we’ll head east toward Timberlea on the SMB Trail and make a detour into Jerry Lawrence Provincial Park on the way out.

The weather isn’t looking good for tonight’s ride. The rain is forecasted to start between 6 and 7 PM. I’m going to cancel this week’s ride. Hopefully there’s better weather next week.
