2015 Summer Student Job Opportunity with the AVMBA!!

Mountain Bike Coordinator – Annapolis Valley
The Annapolis Valley Mountain Bike Association is seeking a self-motivated, energetic person who is highly organized and results-oriented for a full time position this summer (Mid-May to August). 35 hours/week@$12/hr. (will require some evening and weekend work).
This position is partially funded through the provincial Student Career Skill Development program. This requires applicants have to have been in school last year full-time and going back to school this September.

Job responsibilities include:

  • Trail maintenance and building
  • Coordinating workshops and programs related to cycling (bicycle safety, Trips for Kids, Bike Rodeos
    -Planning and implementing a membership drive
  • Cycling Advocacy and promotion of AVMBA’s work at local cycling events
  • Fundraising for trail work
  • Coordinating Volunteer Trail work Days
  • Developing promotional materials for AVMBA, mountain biking and local trails
    Desired qualifications:
  • Experience working in a non-profit organization
  • Experience in trail maintenance
  • Fundraising experience
  • Event/Program planning experience
  • Leadership and coaching experience in a recreational setting
  • Experience in cycling education and/or safety programs
  • Computer skills including word processing, website design, graphic design
  • Online outreach/marketing skills including website design, email and social networking
  • Good written and oral communication skills
  • A commitment to promote cycling as recreation, sport and transportation
  • Highly self-motivated and, organized and results-oriented
