First Time at Wentworth

Heading to Wentworth tomorrow for the first time. Can I buy everything I need on site or do I need to get anything in advance?

Not really a downhill ripper but will certainly take a few runs

Does anyone have any advice or tips?

I thought the required gear was Roach full length shin/ knee pads and a 661 pressure suit.

Since no one has actually answered your question:

You can get basic food at the shack.

There’s a water cooler in the main building so you can fill up a bottle

Tickets can be bought ahead of time online, and they scan a QR code on your phone. But I’m fairly certain you can just buy them once you get there

There’s ample parking, though none in the shade. It’s very close to the lift so it’s easy to leave food/water in the car and pick it up between runs.

There’s a shop with some pads/armour, helmets, gloves etc. Not a huge selection, but it covers most things.

The trails on the climb zone are much easier (and way more fun). If you’re riding the chair lift there is about a 5 minute traverse over to the climb zone side. Hakuna Matata and Kitchen party are favourites over on that side.

On the lift zone side they trails are quite chunky and technical. i’d say Sonny’s delight is the easiest blue trail. I haven’t tried schooner (the green trail on that side). A bunch of trails finish half way down and end up on lower Hodge Podge (green trail, berms all the way down).

Bring your sunscreen… there’s no shade on the chair lifts!

Have fun!

I agree with all of this except that the climb zone trails are way more fun. There’s so much goodness throughout.

@muddy I will be there tomorrow as well. Let’s try to get a lap in!

We’re heading to Wentworth tmr, too. It will be our first time there. Looking forward to checking it out!

Obviously, this is my personal opinion… and I’m sure not everyone feels this way. But regardless of trail difficulty, I find the climb zone trails side so much more fun and interesting

@TuffRider thanks for the thoughtful response. If I could smash the heart a million times I would

@brightwhite Ricky is down from Ontario and wants to go. We’ll connect for sure
