Do most people run them in neutral? If I flip to the high setting to help a bit with pedal strikes will I notice the downhill performance being negatively impacted? Most of my riding is more xc style.
Really depends what the flip chip position is designed to do.
Some are for Head angle, some are for BB height, and some for chain stay length, stroke length or a combo of all or some of the above.
Seems like this one is ± 0.7% head angle and ±10mm bb height
It also has ±5mm reach adjustment in the headset cups
I don’t really notice a difference with my Ride-9 system on my Rocky. Can’t comment on yours. Every bike brand is different.

Don’t notice any difference on my Santa Cruz nomad
I run my Stumpjumper in the high setting unless I’m at Wentworth, Keppoch, Sugarloaf, etc. there is a noticeable difference in handling and bb height.
This was my plan, run high then switch to low for park days.

I run it in low on both my trek fuel and yt decoy.
I switched temporarily to high on my old trek fuel and didnt like it found I was sitting more over the bars . Where my decoy is a mix wheel and fairly slack ive thought about switching to the high but never did
I switched it to high, pedal strikes are almost non existent now. I do feel a bit higher up over the bars now. Nothing crazy, but definitely noticable. It’s much nicer here at the railyard bit I would switch to low if I was going to Wentworth for sure.
