I can’t recommend Outbound Lighting’s products enough. I have two. The Portal for the helmet and the EVO for my handlebar. It’s like daytime riding.

I’ve been running a hiking headlamp on my helmet paired with a Blackburn Dayblazer 1500 on the bars and that combo has worked well for a few years new. Coincidentally, I’ve been looking into upgrading my main light, mainly due to a deteriorating battery (this battery isn’t replaceable—a feature I’ll be looking into for my next light). The light has been fantastic and I rarely run it over the mid setting, but I would like more of a safety net for longer night rides, especially with cold weather approaching which can decrease your battery life.
