I think so. It was the first of two parks we built there, the second was for the Canada Cup year, which I think was 2004.

I remember just arriving in the parking lot for the dual slalom and somebody casing the drop almost simultaneously. It turned out to be a broken collar bone if I remember correctly.
Yeah, there were a few injuries that should have shut it down!

If I recall correctly, I participated in a race the Cyclesmith 3rd Annual Mother of a Mountain Bike Race. I think it was 1988. It was in Bowater, roads and trails, with a trials component too over a pile of logs. Anyone have any details or info about that?

What ever happened to bike events at Martock?
When it was purchased from Joey O’Brian, the new owner wasn’t nearly as interested in spending the money on insurance for bike events in the summer, so it just ground to a halt. It was mostly driven by the original ECMTB crew and Andy MacLean, and we sort of stopped putting on events after that.

Only thing I can remember about that race is a river of mud.
All I remember is my sisters broken elbow, but I don’t know what year that was. Riding is good in there these days. The locals have been hard at the trail building. When I think of River of Mud I think of a more recent race in Gore where every bit of single track was 2" thick of mud and Lamb passes me as if it’s dry tarmac.
Pretty sure I know where that is on the hill, lol.
