I can’t say anything nice so I wont say anything at all
It gets easier each time you have to do it, but it definitely is tougher than they make it look in the tutorial videos.
Lots of soapy water, and wide flat tire lever flipped upside down to push the bead into the channel.
5 minutes a tire most the time even with new tires, sometimes helps to have a 2nd set of hands to hold the bead on.
I’ve put on hundreds of tires, and a few with inserts, this one just wont go. I’m not sure if the combo of this specific tire and an airliner but man its tight
Which liner?
Sometimes you really need to make sure the bead is into the middle channel of the rim to allow it to slide over the opposite lip of the rim.
Check the size if it’s Cushcore I’ve heard a lot of reports of them sending the wrong widths sizes and types lately.
If it’s an airliner Vitoria they have the rap of being the easiest.
airliner
it is an airliner, I have put in ard’s before with zero issue
Tried that several times. Currently have it inflated without a liner to 50psi to see if it relaxes a bit
So the issue is not getting it on the rim? But rather having it seat?
getting the bead on the rim with the liner installed, regardless of how much I push the beads into the center.
One odd thing was when I took the preinstalled liner our it was way too long (like 6"), I assumed it swelled over time, so I took it all off and cut to length based on mfg install instructions.
I found the airliner way too much maintenance (absorbing sealant, stretching, zip tie breaking and awful rattling). Ruined a tire and stretched the bead on another. Will never use again. Swapped to Tannus liners and they were cheaper and way easier to install.
Ditto.
I started with the airliner, but kept hearing it slapping around the inside of the tire, and didnt like how you had to keep shortening it every few weeks because it would stretch out.
Im on the tannus this year as well and I dont even notice it at all.
Leaving it with 50psi for a while must have stretched it a bit, I barely got it on with an Nukeproof ARD but I cant see how that airliner would fit even after that. I’ll ride it with the ARD a few times and see if I can get the airliner in after that
I run ARD on my hardtail and Cushcore in my trail bike love them both but the ARD make awful noises. Changing my rear tire I see lots of small marks that certainly would have been rim dingers thanks to the Cushcore no sweat off my back.
Did a quick ride on the ARD last night, cut short by an elbow injury flare up (flared up from putting that damn tire back on ffs) . Didn’t notice much difference with the ARD over the Airliner
last time seating a tire i took valve stem off and took the air compressor with a adapter to it, so much better than floor pump
The issue wasn’t inflating (using a compressor anyways). The issue was getting the bead over the rim
