Good places to ride while forests are closed

Hey folks.

Hard to believe it’s only been two weeks since the forests have been closed. Feels like forever.

Got any good recommendations for places for a mountain biker to ride while we can’t ride in the woods (other than Wentworth)?

I’ve ridden the Shubie pump track and will go back. Probably hitting Glenbourne tonight.

Haven’t ridden any skate parks yet although I’ll probably visit some. I’m not a very good skatepark rider. Pumping the bowls is fun but I’m not a very good jumper or trick rider.

For a pedal session, Indigo Shores subdivision in Middle Sackville is a nice road ride as far as road rides go. Wide roads, new pavement, houses spread far apart and many under construction and unbuilt lots so lots of trees, not much traffic. Some hills, but that keeps it interesting. Can do a 10km loop.

I put road tires (35mm GP 5000s) on one of my gravel bikes. I typically ride a tour de subdivision in the evenings, mixing in some intervals and hill repeats. I’m trying to do a longer ride like the Aspotogan Loop weekly. Unfortunately other than Wentworth our off road options are slim to nil. That being said I’m heading to the island for a weekend of trail riding and a bit of Alpine drinking.

About 50/50 paved and gravel. Very low traffic roads.

Brookvale is a great day trip, and the bridge is only $20 to get back home now. That’s where we went on Sunday. Other than that I take out the road bike

Low tide fat bike is a great option

Awesome thanks! Do you think a 3” tire could handle it?

Probably stick close to the cliffs

Fat tires not required. Was there with regular mtb tires a few years ago. Was great…. mostly buff exposed rock.
