As someone who gets around by car, foot and bike, my simple take on things is that bike commuting in the HRM has gotten a lot better over the past decade, but still has a looong way to go. Car traffic is shitty, and will only get worse-not surprising given the population increases. However, catering to automobiles at the expense of bike traffic will likely only serve to increase cars on the road-not ease congestion.
regardless of your views, if you’re in HRM you should email your councillor and the mayor prior to the vote on Tuesday.
