What is the trick to getting these mounted on the rim? Have the wire bead and they are a P.I.T.A
Not sure if it matters, but Bontrager rims.

Have you tried a little soapy water inside of the bead?
No, will give that a go. Thanks
Baby powder works well too
Got one on so far…what a bugger.
Getting the opposite side of the bead that’s already mounted down in the low part of the rim (where spokes are) helps.
There is a trick that often works. Get one side of bead on, not set on the rim, but moved to the middle depression of the wheel. Stand the wheel up with other side of bead started at the top. Hold tire at top of wheel, and pull outwards with your hands. Keep working your way down the wheel stretching the tire downward. This will often give you some slack to get the last bit of bead on.
Managed to get them mounyed. The first thing I realized was that it was easier to get the tire onto the rim (not seated) when the neads were in the center of the rim . When trying to get them seated, i had 6-8" of bead that didnt want to pop into place. For one wheel, I left it overnight after soaking with soapy water and it managed to work itself out.
My solution was to buy a Presta to Schrader adapter, and inflate with a gas station air pump. A spray bottle of soapy water to help.
It takes a lot of pressure…about 70 PSI before the beads set properly.
You can just remove the valve core, hit it with pressure (more flow) and then toss the core in after. The adapter actually restricts flow.
