Island Lake Wilderness Area Gravel Ride #2 September 12th

Who’s up for gravel riding? Come on out Thursday evenings this September for beginner/intermediate level rides in the Island Lake Wilderness Area. These social rides are a terrific opportunity to meet other riders and have fun. If you don’t have a gravel bike your mountain or fat bike will do fine. These are no-drop rides with an average distance of 20 – 30 km with a goal pace of 20km/h. We’ll regroup at the top of each major climb. Riders should be comfortable with loose climbs and descents. Meet-up at the Train Station Bike and Bean in Upper Tantallon. The group departs at 6:30 PM with return planned for no later than 8:30 PM. Please bring a light, water, and a repair kit.

Where: Roads and trails in and around the Island Lake Wilderness Area, Upper Tantallon. Meet up at the Train Station Bike and Bean

Difficulty: Beginner/Intermediate. These are no-drop rides with an average distance of 20 – 30 km with a goal pace of 20km/h. We’ll regroup at the top of each major climb. Riders should be comfortable with loose climbs and descents.

Let’s ride down to Boutiliers Point this week. I’m planning a 22km ride, primarily on the rail trailz but there’ll be a solid gravel climb, and a touch of the ol’ blacktop too. Bring lights.
