Visiting Trail Experts Will Inspire Local Trailbuilding

The IMBA Canada Trail Care Crew will be in Antigonish,August 26 to August 29 to talk trails, teach proper trailbuilding technique, and spend quality time digging in the dirt. Everyone is invited to attend the weekend’s events.

Directed by the Canadian office of the International Mountain Bicycling Association (IMBA Canada), in partnership with Parks Canada and the Trans Canada Trail, the Trail Care Crew program includes a full-time, professional team of trail experts who travels across Canada in a 2010 Subaru Outback. The dynamic duo lead IMBA Trailbuilding Schools, meet with government officials and land managers, and work with IMBA-affiliated mountain bike clubs, Parks Canada sites, and Trans Canada Trail local, provincial and territorial organizations to improve trail opportunities Canada-wide. This visit is one of more than 30 stops on the 2010 schedule.

The Trail Care Crew teaches “sustainable” trailbuilding, which means building trails that last a long time and require minimal maintenance. This helps reduce trail damage, protects the
environment, and enhances visitor enjoyment.
