I rode the beginnings of this while I was was visiting, didn’t realize it was an official trail. the trails along Ferris’s hill are good too
Given the similar population sizes and demographic, I’m surprised that Cape Breton lags so far behind PEI in trail development.
You could cross out ‘trail development’ and just say ‘everything’.
Seems like the focus on tourism for CB is for the ultra rich to be honest. People with deep pockets most likely see no value in it.
Its sad though, the highlands could legit be another VBN.
I wish them the best of luck.
The difference, of course is that Quebec City is an hour from VBN and Montreal is only three hours away. Millions of people. The highlands are more than five hours from Halifax. It’s too bad because the terrain is insanely good, but there’s no people and zero infrastructure. It will always be thus.
On a side note I was fly fishing near Marion Bridge and after bushwacking a few minutes I stumbled upon a massive network of ladder bridges and the like. This was 10-15 years ago and it looked like it was abandoned years before that. Totally random.
