Nordic Heritage Center in Presque Isle…
Rode there last summer and it is a blast…
PEI with a few more roots and rocks…
Trails are very well marked and easy to follow…
We rode for 3 hours and only rode the same trail once, and that is because it was so fun the first time, we had to ride it again…

I’ve only ridden the Gould Academy Trails in Maine. Nothing special, but fun if you happen to be near Bethel. Not much else in that part of the state that I could find.

Maine is a pretty big state! Not knowing your destination makes it a little harder to guess. Unless you are free-forming the vacation.
Anyway, never been there, but Carrabassett seems to be popular.

I spent a couple days riding in Carrabassett Valley earlier this week. What a great place. I went up there for the first time last year and got my first taste of machine-built trails with bermed corners, drops, etc. Awesome. They’ve completed a good number of new trails since then. The built trails generally don’t have the roots that beat me up on the local trails, but in a lot of places they are built of large rocks buried in the ground like cobblestones. I’m sure there’s a name for this type of trail building. Anyway, those are brutal on the hard tail. I’m really getting close to pulling the trigger on a FS…
