Nine Mile River Trail - New Trail Corridor Clearing - Sat. July 1

Volunteer Work Day Tomorrow (Saturday), 9:30am-1:30pm.

Last weekend’s work day was quite productive. We cleared deadfall from about 2/3 of the new trail that we’re planning to have built later this year.

We’re planning to continue that work, and clear the remaining part of the corridor for the new trail tomorrow. What better way to spend a Canada Day morning than in the Canadian woods?

We’re planning to meet in the parking lot at 9:30am. Some of us will ride in on mountain bikes – about 35 minutes riding to the work site. It is a long walk, probably an hour and 10 minutes. We’ll go in off the Dipper Lake section of trail. To get there, go to Comeau Lake (the first lake with the two benches), turn left, and then at the fork in the trail, instead of going left into Hemlock Cathedral trail, go right toward Dipper Lake. The entrance to the new trail will be on the right, and is flagged with trail marker tape. Everyone welcome! - Feel free to meet us at the work site, come late, or leave early.

We will have chainsaws, but extra saws and operators would be helpful. We also need volunteers to clear debris after the chainsaws have gone through. It’s an opportunity to see where the new trails will be too!
