Nine Mile River Trail Work Day Sunday June 25

Volunteer work day for this Sunday, June 25, meeting in the parking lot at 9:30am.

We’re going to be clearing the corridor of downed trees for new trails near Comeau Lake. Yes - New trails!!

We will have a few chainsaws, but we could use more chainsaws and operators. If you have a saw that you’re willing to bring and use, it would be very welcome! We will also need volunteers to clear the cut wood after the chainsaws have been through.

The work site is at the far end of the trail system, between Comeau Lake and Dipper Lake, about an hour’s walk, or 30-minute bike ride. A few of us will probably bike in. If you want to meet us in there, go to Comeau Lake, turn right, follow the woods road a short distance (about 50 m), and look for a path entering the woods on the left. Follow the flagging tape and listen for the chainsaws.

The weather forecast is calling for showers, so dress for wet weather.

Feel free to come late, meet us on the trail, or leave early. Any time you can contribute is very valuable!

I had Zoe in there today. Tremendous job you’ve done so far. So much fun.

It was super dry today.

Those new bridges are great too.
