Nine Mile Volunteer Work Day Saturday Sept. 2 - new trail!

Volunteer work day at Nine Mile River Trails this Saturday Sept. 2, meeting in the parking lot at 9:30am.

We’re going to work on the new trail! We’ll be doing root lopping, cutting of trailside stumps and branches, and raking.

It’s a good opportunity to check out the new trail, and learn what goes into building a trail. The new trail is just past the “rock bridge” – about a 40-minute walk or 20-minute mountain bike ride. A few of us will ride in, but of course you’re welcome to walk in, meet us at the work site, come late, and/or leave early. You can find the new trail easily – it’s about 2/3 of the way to the lake, will be on the right, is taped across with yellow hazard tape and has a sign out front saying “Trail Closed. Section under construction”.

We will have tools, so no need to bring any, but if you have favorite loppers, a hard rake, or fan rake, you can bring them.

If you’re planning to come, it would be great to let us know in a comment, but feel free to just come on Saturday! It’s pretty exciting to have new trail at Nine Mile! Looking forward to Saturday!
