Hey all,
I plan on upgrading my Gary Fisher hardtail during the winter and trying to figure out everything I want done. Got stuck on the fork, it’s a Rockshox dart 1 - no rebound and it only works for me with preload cranked right up.
Since dart 3 forks have rebound damping I was wondering could I just install Dart 3 rebound damper and compression damper in to the side of the fork that now is pretty much empty.
I had the fork taken apart few times and compared to dart 3 manual it looks similar, parts looks interchangeable, I think all these forks have 28mm tubes.
I want to keep this fork because of bike’s geometry. Every $ counts too.
What are your opinions on this?

How old is the bike? What size headtube do you have?
Bike is 2008, head tube 1 1/8 straight
