The Links proved to be a great trail system. Easy to follow signs and great trail building. Nice flow, relatively smooth, and great vistas. The beginner had an excellent ride though a couple of trails were a bit too technical. And it was all pretty easy on the arm. Finished it off with dinner at the Port Pub. We will be back!
I’d like to ease my arm back into riding this Sunday so I’m looking for several kms of smooth singletrack within a couple of hours drive of Halifax. Any ideas?
Fitz, or the links.
Amima Mundi just out of Gaspreau is pretty smooth, smaller trail system, pretty flat but lots of fun rolling terrain and twisty (with out getting out of hand about it).
If your coming to The Valley form HRM way it’s a great stop on the way to The Links if you’re taking a day trip. The entrance is just of road by 360 East Davidson St. We put in a new trial head area recently just off the road, there isn’t a road side sign yet but you should be able to the trail head when you get close. Just park along side the road and ride in. Long term a parking lot is in order.
Thans for the ideas. The arm felt pretty good yesterday on a smooth AT trail. It still hurts to grip the bars tight so anything too technical is out. It also hurts when the trail gets really rough from the jarring. I don’t mind it a little rough (double entendre). Does anyone have a good knowledge of the trails in Woodville, that can recommend a route?
That looks like fun for an on the way to the Valley kind of thing! Might stop in with the wifey next weekend…
Heading out to the Links today and bringing some beginners too.
Thanks again.
Rode Anima Mundi on Saturday. It would be a good choice.
Nine Mile River is pretty smooth. Best to ride when things have been dry for a while, because it gets really muddy.
