I’m looking for a few 290mm j-bend spokes. Hoping a shop around the city has some in the right length tomorrow, but does anyone know if any of the shops can cut and thread blanks to length?
Most shops can cut and thread straight gauge blanks spokes.
I broke a straight-pull, tapered spoke on my DTSwiss XM1700 a couple of months ago. Very popular wheelset but no shop in the city had a spoke for it. @Enduro_Performance to the rescue. Had the correct spoke and proper nipple in stock! Replaced the spoke and set up the wheel for a reasonable price in a reasonable amount of time.

@Enduro_Performance is a mensch for sure, but I decided to swing by the staff garage sale at CycleSmith this morning and I was able to get the spokes I needed from the shop while I browsed and bought more things I don’t have space for.

Cyclesmith has one, dunno about other shops but they had the Phil Wood one and occasionally it would have to be shut down for calibration/parts replacement. GD thing was expensive AF back then, now its 10k…damn.
