Spooktober Gravel Ride October 27th

Fall Gravel riding is in full swing. I’m riding a 53km mixed surface route on October 27th. Please feel welcome to join me. Let’s meet at the Train Station Bike and Bean at 10 AM for Pumpkin Spice Lattes. We’ll kick off shortly thereafter.

Where: Roads and trails in and around the Island Lake Wilderness Area, Upper Tantallon. Meet up at the Train Station Bike and Bean

Difficulty: Intermediate. This ride is approximately 55km with 1000 feet of elevation gain. Riding surfaces range from asphalt to unmaintained logging roads with sand and loose rocks. There will be fewer regroups than there was during the weekly rides, and the pace will be quicker when not riding on the rails to trails.

Notes: This is a self-supported ride. Bring water, snacks, and a repair kit.

This is not an official ECMTB ride.

I’m leaning toward the 27th to avoid conflicting with the Fitz Fondo.

I rode this route yesterday. Fall colours are in full swing, and the rail trail is being resurfaced between Bowater and Boutilier’s Point. This is going to be a banger of a gravel ride folks.
