I’m in need of new grips and can’t find the ones I normally get. I prefer a thicker grip and have been using Deity Supracush for a while now. However, the bike shops I checked didn’t have any in stock (or they did but in weird colours).
Does anyone have any suggestions for another brand that makes thick grips that would readily be available?
OneUp offers 3 levels of grip thickness with the thick ones becoming quite popular. They are slightly oval shaped and 35mm thick top to bottom with different pattern sections for different parts of your hand/ fingers. Great feeling grip. $34.99 plus tax and in stock in black.
I also stock the Sensus MeatPaw which is also a 35mm grip but full round so it feels much thicker. I have very large hands and this is my preferred grip after riding dozens of thick grips from Odi rogues for years, foam grips, next Gen Odi thick grips, all of the ergon thicker grips, the OneUp standard and thick grips. I’ve tried many and personally prefer these. $51.50 plus tax and in stock in black as well.
You’re more than welcome to swing by some evening and give the grips a squeeze.
I don’t have a ton of grips in stock because as most people know I just do this on the side because I enjoy it, but as a small one man show it’s hard to keep large amounts of inventory. I have 1-2 pairs of grips in stock. I’ve attached 2 inventory screen shots and for the month of august I’ll give my fellow ecmtb’ers 10% off in stock grips while supplies last.
I also have very large hands. I use the Fat Paw from Wolftooth. Fairly soft foam. They go on the old fashioned MTB way, and so don’t have clamps. Very comfortable. Cyclesmith use to carry them, but I’m not sure if they still do. At the time, they were the only thick grips I could find and I have no regrets. I have a pair on every bike now.
I have an older pair of Easton lockons at 33mm, they are basic and have no business lasting as long as they have or being as comfortable as they are, but they’ve served me well.
So I always though that Wolftooth were the only company selling a thick grip, only to read this and they basically dismiss it as too big. lol. The rest can barely be called thick. Love my foam Fat Paw.
