Trail Work at Nine Mile River Trails this Friday evening and Saturday morning

We’re doing a work evening and work day this weekend. We very much need to get rocks and crusher dust into the trail for remaining mud and drainage work “Out to the Lake” and beyond. We have loan of a four-wheeler with a dump on the back this Saturday. In preparation, we’re going to walk the Woods Road to clear it of deadfall, and to clear drains for some of the water holes if possible to make it easier for the four-wheeler to go through.

Friday night, June 3 at 6:15pm, we’re going to meet in the parking lot to clear the Woods Road. Waterproof boots would be a good idea as the Woods Road has lots of water holes.

Saturday morning, June 4 at 9:30am, we’ll meet in the parking lot to move the crusher dust and rocks. We’ll be working in two places – the crusher dust pile in the farm field next to the trail – it’s only about a 10-minute walk into the trail, following a path to the right, just after the second boardwalk along the main trail. The second work site is at the rock pile at the end of the riverside trail (bottom of the Big Hill, turn right, and it’s on the right just before the farm field), about a 15-minute walk into the trail. We’ll be shovelling crusher dust, and loading rocks into buckets, and then loading the atv. If we have extra hands, there are a few projects (capping roots with crusher dust and filling in the steps to the river platform) that we can do.

The weather looks nice this weekend to be on the trail!
