Tubelesss/insert stayflation woes

Over the past couple of years my hard tail rear tire is set up with a tannus armour insert, and I’ve had perpetual difficulties keeping it inflated. On a good day when inflated, if I go for a ride, the tire will stay inflated for about a day. On a bad day I’m going flat within 30 mins or less. The problem is exacerbated if I’m off the bike for more than a day or so, despite obsessively trying to spin the sealant around the tires when this is the case. I’ve tried having my LBS install them, fresh rim tape, fresh sealant and fresh tires and increasing the amount of sealant.
Anyone have any similar experience or insights? My thought is that maybe the tannus design in particular perhaps prevents the sealant getting from properly distributed easily?

Have you tried tightening your valve nuts or replacing your valve cores? I’ve had similar issues before and that seemed to fix them

I have tried both of those, with no discernible change. that being said, I’m careful not to “over tighten” the valve nuts as on past setups I’ve found that to cause leakage at the valve holes in the past, and I still notice the valve cores can get clogged at times.
I meant to try out a pair of Reserve Filmore type valve when I changed over my tires but I forgot to order a pair.

Try without the inserts? They may be interfering, although it’s hard to know how. I do not have these issues with tubeless.

yeah that’s a likely next step. Front has been set up tubeless only with no issues.

You may have a tire carcass that is too porous. If you follow Stan’s method of tubeless tire setup, prior to installing the insert, it will probably work. Once you get the carcass well sealed, install the insert. Search for his video.
Good luck and keep us updated.
