Was riding some side trails the other day and got spat out on the trail. I know about the brush clearing but this seems a bit excessive. I also read on fb that they’re widening the trail and adding culverts? Although I understand culverts given last summer what’s the point of trail widening? I enjoy the shade in summer and have never found the trail to be too narrow. I assume this is for the atvs? Curious to hear others thoughts on this.
Cutting back the trees helps with sightlines as well as letting more sun get at the trail so it dries faster and help prevent trail damage. I know that another concern with multi use trails is access for emergency services.
