Was just at empire for the first time. Not sure what trails they were on but there are a few trees down across trails. Just be cautious.

Edit: they were to big to move by hand. I tried.

Conditions at fitz are awesome. All of the trails between millsville and scotsburn have been trimmed back and they are ready for some riding.

I rode at Rockwood Park in Saint John yesterday. MacKay Skyway, Millenium Falcon, Clean Air and the Carriage Rd. were dry. Everything else I rode: Wit’s End, Corduroy, Long Lake, Sweetness, Barking Dog, Zoo Trail, Carnage, and Pugsley were wet and muddy or blown out due to fall lines and lack of drainage. Pugsley also had a large patch of broken glass from smahed bottles. I honestly expected this trail system to be in better shape based on what I’d heard.

Just a heads up, there is a long ladder bridge that is completely destroyed @MRWA, just before you enter Gords Gold
It’s in a dangerous spot, so riders beware :call_me_hand:

That’s been sketchy for years, frankly I’m surprised it lasted this long.
Is the bridge still there or has someone removed it?

I can’t even picture the bridge, guess its been a year or so since I’ve been up the topside there.

It’s in pieces and still there but mainly off to the side. Watch for nails in tires etc…
I would have cleaned it up better but I was very pressed for time as it was.

The bridge collapsed yesterday as I was riding across it…one of the main beams snapped and upon inspection, it was wet and rotted…

I tried to move it as best I could, but was pressed for time and couldn’t do much…

Was about to post it here but it was already done…

Empire trails - there’s a tree down across the double track at the bottom of Bi-Hi. Too large to move by hand.

Road in the valley yesterday. Three down on p2 and several down at the beginning of the bird sanctuary.

Has anyone been to the gorge recently ? Im planning on heading there monday or tuesday.

Last thing i heard was the start tower at the top was in really rough shape with more boards rotten and nails sticking out

Yah I looked at it a month or two ago, it’s all overgrown with weeds, and looks to be rotting

The gorge has seen better days, that’s for sure.
The town of Kentville paid for all this nice trail and now does zero to maintain it. The traditional gorge xc lap is rideable and except for the very bottom section that washed out and was never repaired.
A good ride would be to climb the gorge singletrack, head west on the access road to either endorphin or P2 for the descent, cross the number 1 highway and then a full lap of the bird sanctuary.

Thats a shame. Maybe its part of the reason the canada cup was nixed this year
