  1. Since this is a new trail network and there’ll be lots of questions there’s a great FAQ on the socials too for both Topsail Lake and Cycling Nova Scotia.

  2. Expect ‘self groomed’ conditions for fatbiking this week(end). Basically similar ‘grooming’ to what we used to see at Spider. Them more ya ride it the better it gets. Today and tmmrws temps will be ideal for packing and it should be great for the wknd (unless we get a big snow dump). Low tire pressure is king.

  3. The volunteers only got started on this in the late Fall so there’s currently limited kms of trails. Be patient or, better yet, ask how you can be a volunteer for further building in the Spring. Not too hard to put together a 10k fatbike ride in there which is the avg for most fatbikers IME (Barron R not included lol). Perfect for banging off mid-week hits and 60-90 min rides.

  4. Chris N is too modest to say so but much of what you see has been through his organization and efforts. He shouldn’t need to buy his own beer if he’s ever drinking in Dartmouth lol.

Feeling the love for sure.

Theres been alot of help from some key people and we are truly assembling a dream team with a tonne of experience.

Hoping to get some good feedback over the winter and hit the spring building strong with a solid plan that everyones on board with.

We were handed a gift from the land owners for sure.

Turned out to be alot of sled dragging and snowshoeing over the opening weekend.

Predicted temps are showing signs for a great week ahead.

The Farm was spewed on. Lots of effort going in manually to get it good to go with more to go. Stand by for what could be one of the best winter shredding spots in years in the city.

Are the trails open today for fat biking? If not, would a CNS member be able to go snowshoeing there to help pack down the trails?

Snowshoeing/Grooming today with the hope we can ride this weekend.

Yes, CNS member or even a day pass for snowshoes.

Good day

There has been alot of grooming and it would be great to have some fat bike action to firm things up.

Absolutely no skinnies yet.

Snowshoes also very welcome

Rode there at 4pm and its MUCH improved over ystday.
Fully rideable now, soft spots on some climbs. Will stiffen up again overnight so will be faster in the morning.
Saw evidence of some riders struggling on the climbs. All of them had excessive tire pressure. LOW pressure is your friend for recent conditions. Theres no roots or rocks to worry about so go low!
