Duck&Run would also be a mess as there are many dirt sections that will need lots of time to dry out. Also it’s technically not open yet, so stay off it altogether otherwise resources will have to go towards repairs instead of new trails.
Yeah like @rolls said.
We are lucky to have a trail system that is impervious to wet conditions. Let’s consider ourselves fortunate and make good use of the granite front side and stay off the squishy stuff until it dries up.
Any damage that is done takes trail crew off new stuff while they repair the damaged sections.
Was definitely sloppy in spots towards the lake when I finished not long ago. Lots of spots I just walked up the side to try and avoid rutting it up more
Not a bad idea to take the ‘old’ route back up and avoid the newer switchback route until it dries out.
And agree with Rolls, avoid the less-granite stuff like Duck Run, Norawarren, etc
I rode Fight today most of the attic and Flat Lake Loop taking the old track. I did my best to alleviate the pooling water and unclogged a bunch puddles. So should be half decent for the nice conditions projected for tomorrow. Happy trails!
Should be all hero dirt tomorrow with the overnight temps.
Anyone been to the Gorge lately? Curious as to how much ice is left (if any?)
@riderx @Pepperjester
Not been in. Im staying out of the public for a while.
My wrist probably can’t take it yet anyways I’m sticking to rail trails for now! Stay safe everybody
Should also be worth noting we should all now ride within our abilities more now than ever, to prevent any strain on our healthcare system!
Provincial Parks are all closed, considered trespassing now… looks like HRM is following suit
The MRWA website say they are seeking clarification on if Fight is included in the closure.
Personally I’m just sticking to the subdivision at the moment, I don’t think wife would forgive me if I ended up needing to go to the ER or Dr at the moment!
MRWA announced that trails are closed. Which sucks because everyone will cluster in fewer places.
Everything Provincial and Municipal is now closed, this includes all rail trails.
Consistent with the decision by the Province of Nova Scotia to close all provincial parks, all municipal parks, beaches, playgrounds, sports fields/courts, and trails are closed until further notice.
Unfuckingreal.
Are you sure the rail trails fall under that though? It says provincial and municipal parks, I would hope I can still use the rail trails. I know kentville has closed all their trails including the gorge and skatepark
Edit : Reread the trails part. fuck. So where can one ride now??”
Streets!
This is a fucking travesty. Yet the malls are still open?!?!
Well fellas, was nice knowing ya…
disappears into the woods with a pickaxe
See you all at Whooper! And who will be policing this?
