Nova Scotia Bike Park Info (Dirt Jumps/BMX/4-Cross/Mountain Bike Skills)

Grand Desert Bike Park (Eastern Shore)

Jumps are intact - they are carpeted over. Lips are probably worn. Pump track and berms are grassed in.

So these types of things were mentioned as part of the Mountain Bike Strategy Plan for Halifax. That document has been provided to council and has been used to start some projects. If anyone is reaching out to officials about parks being upkept, you can mention the plan.

A lot of the issue with these parks was they had initial funding for construction but they often didnt factor in (budget) for maintenance costs so they end up like this.

The city has the information to change these things but it will take time. So reach out to government!

Didn’t know that about rollers on jumps, never considered it like that. With the roller I didn’t entirely remove it but just made it less steep as you were basically getting bucked over it into the lip. Can’t say much about the other spots
@Rockhopper said but he did say that they looked at the Laurie Lively park and might be in there to do a little work. Thanks @DHRider for the more in-depth talk about williamswood and hope that things continue to progress nicely!

I was out in fall river a couple months ago. We did clean up a couple ruts that formed at the middle jump and the step down thats just before the bottom, nothing drastic but overall it could use a bit of a facelift as several of the others appear to need

Didn’t @Spindatt clean up and rebuild one of the Dartmouth parks earlier this summer? I think I watched a couple of videos of that.

Yeah I was digging like crazy at Mt Edwards for a while with some help from the Porter brothers. It was taking up every bit of video creation time I had in a week and it started to look like making a mortgage payment was going to suffer so I had to abandon.

Well, the videos were ace.

Looks like the Leeward Dr. jump park in Upper Tantallon is currently getting some TLC.

Seems like an odd time of year to start working on it. Assume the local councilor had to spend their discretionary fund before year end?

Good lord. I lived five houses away from that park and was the only one that ever really used it. Good to see some renewed interest.

I felt the jumps were a nice size to learn on… if I lived closer, I would use them more…

The newly expanded Shubie pumptrack is now open, according to Councillor Mancini’s IG post. Looks pretty sweet.

This is who should have built that pumptrack in the first place

Isn’t Shubie part of the park/fire ban that’s going on right now?
