Awesome!
Just found out there’s a bike park in Grand Desert. Added it to the list.

Nicole
any updated on this?
thanks
Nick
Still waiting on the land transfer as far as I know! I will check in with Patty.
Has anyone been using the bike parks this summer? Any updates? It’s about time I did my annual summer HRM bike park tour.
I was at Mt. Edward yesterday. The jumps look in good shape. The pump track is looking a bit worn down but looks in decent shape.
Glenbourne was running good last time I was there. Fall River is toast. best public dirt jumps around here right now are the callus jumps at the railyard.
What Josh said. Mt Edwards and Glenbourne are rider maintained, somewhat. They’ve both had some recent reworks. Beyond that, The Railyard.
Is there a pump track/ skills park being put in at the clark kent end of mac run? Heard talk of it last year… last week it was just looking like graded surge and 1" fill
Was wondering who maintains the Glenbourne dirt jumps because I’ve heard that a group of people like to keep the place running and don’t like people messing with the jumps there. Me and many other people don’t like the roller before the first big tabletop and we’re wondering if we could remove it? Any insight or help would be appreciated!
Went to go reduce the size of the roller in question and ran into someone working with the city. He said that they have gone around to most of the parks in the city and many have been crossed off because they are not used enough to warrant a rebuild, he said they are looking at Glenbourne, Falls River, the shubie pump track, mount edwards, and williamswood.
Williamswood is hopefully going to be based off Glenbourne with a run in and sets of jumps built off of it. He said they were looking at starting this next year in combination with Devon white of dirt love to design and build the jumps along with maintain the existing parks that we have. Sounds like the city has good intentions and are looking to have stuff done in the next year!
Glad to hear the city is getting more involved now.
Thanks @Allie for the update! I haven’t been to Glenbourne in a while, so I don’t know what the roller currently looks like. I’m not much of a jumper, but I understood a roller helps with adjusting speed on the roll-in. In the past, there was a roller that was set up more like a jump before the lower part of the jump area, which I didn’t think was ideal.
Officially the city maintains parks like Glenbourne, but really they hire a company (in the past, Shoreline Dirtworks (@nimzie) to do maintenance once a year if that. Locals do more frequent maintenance. It would be good if there was a way to communicate who’s doing what. There is a Facebook page, but it doesn’t look like it’s used much:
Dirt jumping may be declining in popularity, but one reason that the parks may not get used much is that they’re hard to find. I approached the city about putting them on their web page, but as far as I can tell they still haven’t.
I visited a few bike parks lately to update their condition.
Eastern Passage BMX Park:
There is a jump line, but lips are worn. Grass has been cut, but many berms have grass growing on them. No bike tracks observed.
Laurie Lively Park (Middle Sackville)
Actually not in bad shape. Lines are not grassed in, but jumps/humps are a bit worn.
Delaney Bike Park (Beaverbank)
This was a small pump track - no dirt jumps. It’s almost completely grassed in. Will move to the inactive list.
Fall River Dirt Jumps
People have already commented on their condition. Relative to the other bike parks, I didn’t think they were in that bad shape. The lips could use work, and one jump has the middle dug out of it (like some jumpers like to do) so it’s not exactly a tabletop, but the jumps are intact and not grassed in.
Cameron Park (Wellington) dirt jumps
These are completely grassed in, and a downed tree has fallen over the roll-in. Kind of a shame, as these jumps were on the small side, and good for learning on.
Will move to the inactive list.
So,
I started a committee for the Williamswood jumps about 8-10mths ago and I’ve had several zoom meetings with the councilor and HRM representatives.
We met last Friday morning with the Landscape company hired to do the jump park build. We looked at the site location and I explained what I expect to see built if funding will allow it. There will be a proper starting ramp, Glenbourne has been mentioned, and there will be beginer to advanced jumps.
I had funding approved for them to hire a design/consultant (Devon White/ Dirt Loves Design) to layout and oversee the build.
They are hoping to start some of the work very soon and we will finish the remainder of the jump park next spring… Finger Crossed
When I know more, I can keep people up to date as we see progression.
Cheers
Thanks @DHRider for the update! Sounds great!
Probably adds a ton to the cost, but I wonder if paving more pump tracks would help them last longer (and widen there usability since skateboarders could use them)…
