Anyone been into Shubie or plan on going before tomorrow evening? I have a buddy who would like to come out for the Tuesday evening ride, but he doesn’t have studded tires, just wondering if they are necessary?
As of Tuesday evening. Shubie is great! Fast and studs are required. Hopefully the conditions will continue for a bit longer. Or we just skip spring conditions and just jump to summer conditions.
What are the trail conditions as of late? I know we are getting some warmer weather followed by a cold snap on Tuesday which should provide for some decent trail conditions for the weekly ride.
Out to wrandees tonight, it was rough from Walkers but had good snow coverage and is starting to crisp up. Should be good with the cold snap over night.
We rode out to pipeline loop and then over to scouts bridge and NW Arm entrance. Didn’t get to red trail though.
Wrandees was even better today. The little bit of snow we got filled in the boot marks a bit. I would say studs are not required.
Anyone have a fresh update on Spider? I seen on FB that a crew was out today so it must be fairly decent.
Word has it that Spider has a few icy spots…same as Skull.
the main road, the ribbon and the skull trail are all in good shape mostly snow packed singletrack with some ice in all the normal spots which means the worst possible spots for traction.
Wrandees just keeps getting better folks!
The trail elves were out last night under cover of darkness clearing some deadfalls from the Old Coach Road… maybe it’s got another name? Trail on the Old Sambro Road side of Long Lake… 4 or 5 deadfalls cleared out and some nice logs for bridges reserved.

Some elves were out tonight clearing Pipeline. It’s super fast now!

Spider was EPIC last night! It was pure magic! Get out there and enjoy it before it warms up later this week.
Went to Irishman’s Rd this morning and it was totally awesome! it was hard packed even where there had been no traffic at all, no studs required. Almost better than riding in August.
Spider Lake was INCREDIBLE Wednesday night. Fresh powder, cold temps and a clear sky night made for awesome conditions. The fact that it is at night makes it even better. Might go do it again tonight it was so much fun.

Shout out to the trail elves! Those trees cleared out of the way made riding the Pipeline even more of a blast then it already was.
Good work, guys. I just hope you don’t think you’ll be riding it come summer. It’s more a river than a trail.
We’re familiar with the summer conditions in there… plan is to attempt to drain a few of the bigger… ponds…
